Wing Yee Tse to change her plea

Wing Yee Tse, also known as Wing Yen Tse, has stated in writing her wish to plead guilty in the U.S. District Court for the NMI.

Tse, who was arrested on Saipan while serving her 10-year probation for conviction of misuse of credit card in Superior Court, is represented by court-appointed attorney David Banes.

Assistant U.S. Attorney James Benedetto, who is prosecuting the case, said U.S. Attorney for Guam and the NMI Alicia Limtiaco will sign the document this week.

Details of the plea agreement were not available.

Houston remanded Tse to the custody of the U.S. Marshals Service after the hearing.

According to the indictment, between on or about Sept. 26 to Sept. 28, 2010, Tse used two credit cards under her name and bought $1,000 worth of jewelry and other merchandise and another $1,000  signature bag on Guam.

On same dates, the indictment stated Tse issued a “false material claim and statement” that she was not convicted in Hong Kong for possession of dangerous drugs, when she obtained a CBP Form I-736 Guam-CNMI Visa Waiver Information.

The Superior Court credited six months for time served by Tse in the CNMI Department of Corrections facility after she pleaded guilty to misuse of credit card that she used in purchasing high-priced items from DFS Galleria on Oct. 30, 2010.

Local police said Tse received the fake credit cards in Shenzhen, China.
