Manglona sentenced Norlina Jean Taitano to six months imprisonment, all suspended except for 30 days with credit for 20 days time served at the Department of Corrections facility.
Taitano will complete the remaining 10-day sentence on Jan. 3 to 8 and on Jan. 17 to 22, 2011.
Taitano will be placed on one-year probation, and will report to the Community Guidance Center for evaluation.
Manglona said the $800 cash bail posted by Taitano will be applied to the required restitution.
Taitano was also required to pay a $100 fine, a $25 assessment fee, a $100 probation fee and will perform 20 hours community work service.
Manglona said all other charges are dismissed with prejudice as moved by the government.
In its second amended complaint filed on Dec. 15, the Attorney General’s Office included the charge of reckless driving to the earlier complaint of attempted first degree murder, assault with a dangerous weapon, hit and run, and disturbing the peace.
Police said Taitano ran over Nelsin Anson Saimon who suffered injuries on both of his legs and on the lower portion of his torso on April 9, 2010.
A plea agreement was later signed by Taitano, her counsel F. Matthew Smith, Assistant Attorney General Benjamin K. Petersburg, and Blumel Ada, the Attorney General’s Office victim witness advocate.
