The other charges of assault and minor consuming alcohol filed against Vanessa Malitha were dismissed pursuant to a plea agreement with the prosecution.
Naraja originally sentenced Malitha to six months imprisonment, all suspended, with credit for six days that she had already served in the Department of Corrections facility.
The court directed Malitha to write a letter of apology to Traffic Officer Flor Estabillo. She will pay a fine of $450 which is payable within eight months, a $25 court assessment fee for misdemeanor offense, and a $100 probation fee.
Police said Malitha was drunk when she slapped Estabillo on his back and pushed him. Estabillo was responding to a call regarding a disturbance incident in Koblerville.
While being transported to the Corrections facility, Malitha also kicked the officer driving the police car.
