Last month, the group’s cleanup drive in cooperation with the Division of Environmental Quality was conducted in the Wing Beach area.
Jun Concillado, Pilcowa board chairman, said the recent cleanup drive drew the participation of 40 individuals, including the families of the association members.
“We want every member of this community to know and remind them that everyone has an important role in maintaining a sound and healthy environment,” he said.
Concillado said there are still members of the community who continue to ignore the importance of maintaining a clean surrounding.
The group’s community services committee chairman Ferdie Martin will continue to coordinate with DEQ so that Pilcowa can continue its monthly cleanup drive, Concillado said.
He said the cleanup drive is “an expression of our strong commitment to the local community.”
He added, “We are reminding everyone to be responsible in cleaning up their own mess.”
