Yap Cancer Day walkathon a success

Participants gathered at the new museum site where they registered and issued trash bags and gloves before they began the walk at 3 p.m.

Participants were also given the option to measure their body fat through a test machine, which the Department of Health provided for that purpose.

A nutritionist from the Division of Agriculture was on hand to talk about plants and healthy local food that people should include in their daily consumption. They also passed out information on local recipes.

At the end of the walkathon, speeches and prizes were awarded.  Participants collected a total of around 20 bags of trash.
