At first the Planning Committee discussed with the group the activities that will also take place during the three-day competitions and what it has planned for the demonstrators and presenters including their assistants.
The committee also got confirmation from all those present during the meeting yesterday that they are willing to perform whatever the committee had assigned for them to do during the Canoe Festival.
These people have been selected to organize some of the activities that will also be ongoing during the three-day canoe race competitions.
They will be responsible for demonstrations in areas of traditional navigation, canoe carving, rope making, sail weaving, local oil making, rope tying, general weaving, local attire, voyage food preparation and so forth.
They will also be the same persons to conduct workshops in areas of responsibility.
The workshops will cover all the areas that have been demonstrated including canoe sailing and capsizing on water. Sign up sheets will be provided for visitors and any locals who might be interested to give a try in one of the workshops to sign up for it.
At the closing of the meeting yesterday, the Planning group instructed all the demonstrators to prepare and submit by Friday next week detail plans for their activities so the Committee would be able to determine as to which groups will ready and which ones still need the assistance of the committee.
