All the chiefs who came in from the remote islands reported that “their islands have been in one form or another” experience adverse impact of climate change and sea level rise particularly on their limited food and water supplies.
The acting chairman of the council, Ignatius Meitog, said the request is also endorsed by the chiefs of the main island of Yap and is of priority to the council.
His letter is also calling for the support of the neighboring island senators.
