Yap governor sends communications to legislature

Among the communications is a copy of a memorandum from the governor to the heads of all departments, offices and agencies regarding the general plan for the first half of 2010 Human Resources Development Program in China.

In his letter,  Anefal informed the departments, offices and agencies of the state government that the People’s Republic of China has offered training opportunities to FSM citizens employed at the technical, official and ministerial levels for the first half of 2010.

Anefal said while this short-term training program has been ongoing for the past several years, the state has not taken full advantage of the free seminars and workshop offerings.

He also offered two reasons behind this.  First that the information may not have been disseminated widely, and second, perhaps the state received the information too late.

The governor said whatever the factors might have been this time he is taking the liberty of providing them the information.

He even suggested that relevant agencies nominate a potential candidate for the corresponding training workshop, who would be most suitable to gainfully enhance their knowledge and skills after its completion.

Anefal at the same time signed Yap State Law 7-68, to amend Yap State Law 7-59, the fiscal year 2010 annual budget appropriation.

Y.S.L. 7-68 increased the approved budget by appropriating an additional $258,072 from the State Treasury to fund the state government’s mid-year budget request, bringing the total to $19,980,805.

The legislature then introduced another amendment which further increased appropriations by $127,814.
