The bill seeks to amend Yap State Law 7-59, the fiscal year 2010 annual budget appropriation, to increase the amount with an additional request of $967,772 to be appropriated from the State Treasury.
Gov. Sebastian Anefal told the Legislature that the Executive Budget Review Committee has conducted an assessment and review of budgetary needs due to pressing demands and has thus submitted several urgent and priority budget requests for funding consideration.
He said that through further review he decided to defer certain requests that need further policy dialogue and technical assessment for possible consideration in the later part of this fiscal year.
He said the selected budget requests are those that are supplementary in nature due to anticipated shortfalls and those that may be new but critical and deserving of urgent funding consideration in this fiscal year.
He said the total budget he requested is based on the requests that his office has received and assessed.
