The board in its special meeting scheduled for April 7 at 4:30 p.m. will hear case 2011-0420 regarding the request of Christopher A. Torres.
Torres has asked the board to rezone lot number 380-BNew-7-1R1 and its surrounding property from village residential to village commercial.
Torres, who operates Western Sales and Trading, wishes to construct a warehouse and wholesale operation at the intersection of Bakke St. And Tokcha Avenue.
At least four residents are opposed to Torres’ plan and have asked Zoning Administrator Douglas T. Wyatt to deny the request.
In their letters to Wyatt, Ray Bermudes of Chalan Kanoa, Jose C. Sablan of San Vicente, Torcuato M. Castro and Marcelino Aguon of Susupe said the warehouse should be located in Lower Base.
Aside from Torres, Mose R. Lifoifoi also filed a request for rezoning of lot number 023-D89 from village residential to village commercial.
Lifoifoi wants to construct an apartment building at the intersection of Saluda St. and Publiko Drive. The area is east of Chalan Pale Arnold Road on Lower Navy Hill.
Also to be discussed during the public hearing:
• A request by Johnny Fong of the University of Loyola Press for a conditional use permit for the operation of a printing press on property zoned as village commercial. The proposed business is located on the ground floor of the Marianas Business Plaza in Susupe.
• A request by Heeroo Gopinath to obtain a conditional use permit to operate a children’s day care facility, Bright Minds Day Care, in Oleai-San Jose. The site is zoned as village residential.
• A request by P&A Corporation to use the former Winners Garment Factory for warehouse and wholesale activities at the intersection of Afetna Road and Buninas Loop. The property is zoned as mixed commercial.
