HAGÅTÑA (The Guam Daily Post) — A man was accused of sexually assaulting a 16-year-old girl since 2020.
Glenn Perez Augustine was charged in the Superior Court of Guam after a 16-year-old girl made a complaint to the Guam Police Department and accused Augustine, 37, of sexually assaulting her at a Dededo residence.
According to the magistrate’s complaint filed Monday with the court, the minor indicated Augustine “started touching her when she was in sixth grade, sometime in the year of 2020.”
The girl reported she was sleeping in her bedroom when she woke up to Augustine looking over her before allegedly sexually assaulting the minor with his hand. The minor then moved her body and Augustine left the room.
The complaint stated Augustine allegedly touched the minor numerous times after this incident and after each time the minor would tell a woman, Robynn Ngiraremiang, who promised she would talk to Augustine about his conduct, but Ngiraremiang did not contact the police.
According to the complaint, on Jan. 4, Augustine went into the minor’s bedroom, locked the door, pushed the victim and removed her pants. Augustine allegedly performed oral sex and raped the 16-year-old girl in the room.
The minor immediately told Ngiraremiang what occurred, and the woman apologized, but she did not call the police, the complaint stated.
On Jan. 9, the 16-year-old girl’s brother, 15, heard Augustine and Ngiraremiang fighting in the dining room of the Dededo residence before Augustine retrieved a knife, approached Ngiraremiang and allegedly tried to strike Ngiraremiang with the knife. The 15-year-old boy ran to try and take the knife away, but Augustine allegedly shoved the boy’s head into the kitchen table, causing the boy to chip his tooth, the complaint stated.
Augustine was apprehended by police on Feb. 4 where he allegedly admitted to performing oral sex on the 16-year-old girl and raping her.
Ngiraremiang allegedly admitted the girl had told her several times Augustine had sexually assaulted her but said she did not call the police because she was ashamed, the complaint stated.
Ngiraremiang was arrested on suspicion of child abuse, failure to report suspected child abuse, neglect and interfering with reporting. She was confined at the Department of Corrections, but was released on Monday.
Augustine was charged with two counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct and one count of second-degree criminal sexual conduct as first-degree felonies, along with two charges of family violence as third-degree felonies.
