The suspect identified as Etpison Brel was arrested for theft of vehicle.
Patrol Division Chief Ismael Aguon said that the owner of the vehicle called police on May 6 at 4:10 am and reported that his car was stolen in Ngerchemai.Aguon said police spotted the vehicle at 4:25 am and arrested the suspect.On May 5, a woman called for police assistance at her residence in Airai.Police responded and learned that someone stole 250 feet of wire that cost $270.A woman also called police on May 4 and reported that someone went to a government office in Medalaii and stole spare tire from one of the government vehicle.On May 6 at 3 am, a man called police and reported that three unidentified men approached him at a restaurant in Iyebukel and stole his wallet which contained ID, $45 cash and cell phone.A car collision was also reported to police on May 7 at 12:50 am.Two cars were coming from KB gas station in Airai when car number 1 which is following car number two hit the car’s rear end.The driver of the car number one exited from his car and approached the driver of car number two and threatened to do bodily harm on him.The driver fled the scene afterwards.
