Man denies bank rob attempt

Floriano Ueda appeared for arraignment on June 9 and waived reading of the information.

He was charged on June 5 with one count of attempted bank robbery for trying to rob a bank on February 27.A court document stated that Ueda “did attempt to steal First Commercial Bank with the use of force or intimidation by threatening to blow up the bank.”An affidavit submitted in court stated that Patrol Division received a call from First Commercial Bank regarding an attempted robbery on February 27.Police responded and conducted an investigation. It was disclosed that Ueda entered the bank and passed a note to a teller.The note stated “Be calm and don’t panic and follow my order. You don’t get hurt and others. Put $40,000 in the bag and I will walk out that door in thirty minutes.”Ueda’s note also stated that a “bomb will turn off and everybody will be safe but if you make any stupid move you all die.”The teller was alarmed causing the defendant to flee immediately from the premises.Ueda was captured in the video clip which was televised on April 24 and April 27.A tip came through Crime Stoppers hotline identifying Ueda as the same person who resides at the Ngerchemai who looked like the one being televised as the suspect for attempted bank robbery.Ueda was arrested after a follow up investigation.
