Dino Mesubed was charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon on May 22 for assaulting another man with a flashlight in January.
Mesubed was arraigned on June 15 and he entered a not guilty plea to the charge.He posted $1,000 cash bond and was released from custody.Mesubed was ordered to stay away from the victim.His next hearing was set for July 6 at 9:15 am.The affidavit of probable cause submitted to court stated that the victim on January 26 reported to police that he was assaulted by Mesubed.The incident happened on January 20 at 9:30 pm at the SLC parking lot in Malakal.The document stated that the victim was at the parking lot with a friend when the defendant walked up to him and struck him with a flashlight in the head.The victim sustained laceration in the right side of the mouth.The document added that prior to the attack, the victim greeted “Good evening” to the defendant.The document stated that defendant tried to hit the victim for the second time but he managed to run away.
