The court set Ressy Ellis plea hearing or trial setting conference for October 17 at 10 a.m. in Melekeok.
Ellis is currently on bail release after posting a $1,000 surety bond for his criminal case aggravated assault.Ellis first appearance in court was on July 7 for arraignment where he entered a not guilty plea to the charge.The defendant was charged for assaulting Chamberlain Ngiralmau with a machete during an argument on March 1.The court ordered the defendant to stay away from victim.The police affidavit submitted in court stated that the defendant and the victim were drinking beer when they engaged in argument later.The defendant attacked the victim with a machete and assaulted him in the face, forehead and chest.The affidavit stated that the defendant attacked the victim for trying to stop him from collecting crabs.
