Patrick Albert appeared for a plea hearing on Tuesday and through his counsel William Ridpath entered a guilty plea to one count of assault and battery with dangerous weapon charge.
Assistant Attorney General Tony DeRuiz agreed to dismiss the other charge, one count of assault and battery charge in exchange of Albert’s guilty plea.
Albert was sentenced to one year and six months of imprisonment but Chief Justice Arthur Ngiraklsong suspended the sentence and placed defendant to one year and six months of active probation.
Albert was also ordered to pay a fine of $100 and to stay away from the victim, Kwang Seok Kim.
The defendant was charged for hitting the victim in 2008.
The police affidavit filed in court stated that defendant got mad at the victim when he blocked the driveway in Meketii on November 26, 2008.
The defendant hit the victim in the right eye with a beer can and punched him in the eye.
