KOROR (Palau Horizon) – A man who was on bail release for assaulting his common-law wife was ordered to stay away from the victim.
Bernard Sakurai who was released from custody after posting $100 cash for his one count of assault case was ordered to move out at their marital home.
Sakurai was further ordered to stay away from the victim and her children and not to harass the victim.
Sakurai was charged for assaulting his common-law partner at their residence on October 26.
The police affidavit filed in court stated that an argument ensued between the defendant and the victim while they were at home and threatened to kill her with a metal pipe and a knife.
The court document stated that defendant also threatened to harm the victim’s children.
The document stated that the victim is concerned not only for her own life but also for her children.
Sakurai was arraigned on November 2 and he entered a not guilty plea to his charge.
