A Koblerville roadside was cleared of overgrown vegetation and debris in preparation for the typhoon and to ensure a clean and safe community, the Saipan Mayor’s Office said.
THE Saipan Mayor’s Office had been cleaning roadsides and trimming overgrown vegetation in preparation for Typhoon Mawar, Mayor Ramon RB Camacho said Tuesday.
In an interview, Camacho said aside from the daily regular road clearing that his staff had been conducting, they were also ensuring that Airport Road and other thoroughfares are clear of potential typhoon hazards.
“Our operations team members have been working hard daily and are dedicated in cleaning and beautifying the island,” the mayor said. “We want to make sure that the roads are safe and clear of debris not only during the typhoon.”
Camacho also urged community members to prepare for Typhoon Mawar by securing their homes and vicinities, trimming overgrown tree branches in their backyard, and to stock up on food, medicine and gas.
“Let us all be safe and be strong as we face this calamity,” he said.
