JOHN Michael F. Ramirez, Rosalie Blaza and Leah Aelynn Montealegre each received $100 from Marianas Variety and the Marianas Visitors Authority for voting for their favorite places in the Best of the Marianas promo.
Ramirez, who works at a Mobil station, said he is glad to win cash, adding that he voted for his workplace as his favorite gas station.
“I want to support our brand,” he added.
He voted by filling out the ballot page in Variety’s print edition and dropping it in a designated promo drop box.
Ramirez said his favorite restaurant is La Mesa Kusina where he always orders “sisig.”
Leah Aelynn Montealegre said she will use her cash prize to gas up her vehicle.
“With gas prices going up again, this cash prize is a huge help for me — $100 will have a long way to go,” she said.
Rosalie Blaza said she voted for her favorite restaurant, Savory Restaurant, adding that she will share her cash prize with her loved ones.
She is encouraging community members to vote for their favorite establishments.
“You can win instant cash just by supporting them. So what are you waiting for? Vote now!” she added.
The Best of the Marianas aims to promote businesses on island.
The voting period runs through Feb. 15, 2023. Variety picks five winners of $100 cash prize every week through a live raffle draw streamed on Facebook every Thursday at 4 p.m.
Two grand prize winners will win a staycation for two on Saipan, Tinian or Rota. The grand prize will be raffled at the end of the voting period.
