Ministry of Finance system gets an upgrade

Through a $96, 233 grant, the upgrade on the computerized Financial Management System to a higher version.

The system is designed for government entities like the Ministry of Finance which meets all relevant governmental accounting, auditing and reporting requirements and complies with governmental standards including those established by the Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB).

The upgrade will include the support of an experienced implementation team of on- site technical consultants and trainers who worked through a three week period with staff of the Ministry of Finance.

There was a period of training sessions, discussions enabled the technicians and trainers to customize the 4gov application software to meet the needs of the Ministry and enhance staff capacity to better utilize the system and capitalize on all of its end user benefits.

A continuing warranty will ensure professional on-line support from an IDC help desk and the implementation team who now are not only familiar with the system, but with the individual users and technicians at the ministry’s end.

The upgrade includes new equipment acquired, these are two new IBM System x 3200 M3 Servers, compatible POS cash registers, net books for remote sites, thermal and laser printers with toners for printing checks, other equipment and accessories.
