MOE dollies up Head Start Program

The dolls and toys were donated to the Palau Ministry of Education (MOE) last month.  The MOE management logged the dolls and toys as gifts from REPAC and in turn, gave the toys and dolls to the Belau Head Start Program.

The dolls and toys, which are estimated to worth about $2,000, were presented to the Director of Belau Head Start Program, Ms. Edyline Ikeya, as MOE’s gifts to the program.“Our students would be delighted,” she said. “The dolls and toys will be distributed to all Head Start centers in Palau.  I am sure that they will be appreciated and enjoyed by the students who enrolled in each respective center.”Ikeya said that dolls and toys would be sorted and divided among the centers according to each center’s enrollment.MOE officials had opted to donate the dolls and toys to the Belau Head Start Program, as it caters to children who would most benefit from the dolls and toys.  Further, the program has, over the years, provided services to students who eventually would enroll in the public school system.MOE Chief of School Management, Sinton Soalablai, presented the dolls and toys to Ikeya and her staff on September 14, 2009.
