On Wednesday, President Johnson Toribiong and MSPLA Chairman Reklai Bao Ngirmang signed the lease agreement.
Under the lease agreement, MSPLA leases to the national government the land known as Bekeu Detiml which is 15,587 square meters big.The property will be used for the purpose of building, maintaining and operating a National Archives and Convention Center Building.The lease agreement will continue as long as the property is used.In the agreement, the national government will be paying an annual rental payment of $1 to MSPLA.“I would like to thank MSPLA for donating another parcel of land to accommodate another archive,” Toribiong said.He added the donation “demonstrated the true Palauan spirit.”He said that he hopes that other states will follow suit.
