Koror State is observing it State’s 27th Constitution Day on October 21, but the holiday will be observed on October 22, Friday.
“Every time the holiday falls on a Wednesday or Thursday, they move it to Friday,” Sinton Soalablai, Chief of School Management of Ministry of Education (MOE), said in an interview.
Harris Elementary School, Koror Elementary School, Palau High School and Meyuns Elementary School are among the schools that will have no classes on Friday.
The MOE office, however, will be open because other schools in Palau are open except in Koror.
“Last year was the first time we absorbed the State Holiday in Koror,” Soalablai said. “All the States have been doing this for years.”
