No related H1N1 deaths in Palau, confirmed H1N1 cases remain at 38

People who are most at risk of getting the flu, namely pregnant women and those who have underlying conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, asthma, or other chronic illnesses, should seek medical advice and treatment if experiencing any flu-like symptoms.

Due to the decrease in ILI cases, the Ministry of Health has scaled down its H1N1 screening operations at the Belau National Hospital with ILI screening now only being conducted at the entrance to the inpatient wards. Hospital visiting hours remain in place from 6:00pm until 8:00pm. The public is reminded that children under the age of fourteen (14) are not allowed in the hospital premises unless they are seeking medical care.At this time the Alternative Care Site (ACS) remains open to treat any remaining ILI encounters that might still be present. The ACS is open on weekdays from 8:00am until 4:00pm. Weekend and after hours ILI cases will be seen at the Emergency Room (ER).For more information about the Influenza A(H1N1) or any flu related questions, contact the H1N1 Hotline on 488-0555.
