PCC student gets Dave Williams scholarship

Anthony Rudimch with the officials of the Palau National Scholarship Board (PNSB) received a check of $500 from the Club yesterday.

Rudimch is a second year student at the Palau Community College taking up Electronics.Rudimch said he is happy receiving the check.He said that he will be pursuing an Electric Engineer course after his studies at the PCC. He will be pursuing the engineering course in the United States.Dave Williams was a charter member of the Rotary Club of Palau.He was, even before Rotary was chartered, active in family and community matters in his home state of Peleliu as well as Palau in general. He was a business major at what was Micronesian Occupational College (MOC), which is today the Palau Community College (PCC). He epitomized the ideals of Rotary, especially that of “Service Above Self” in everything he did.When he passed away in 2001, the Rotary Club of Palau established the Dave Williams Scholarship for a 2nd-year PCC student, with a priority being to a business major.Since the scholarship was established, a deserving student has been a recipient of this scholarship in the amount of $500 to help defray costs of attending secondary school here. The Rotary Club is especially grateful to the Palau National Scholarship Board for its annual assistance with screening and evaluation applications.The DW Scholarship is one of many activities and projects of the Rotary Club of Palau and is funded in part by proceeds from the annual Rotary Fishing Derby.
