Noni juice a ‘hit’ in Palau

PMG’s president Matsu Nishimura said in 2004, their  first year in Palau, they made some $300,000 in sales.

The following year, they earned $500,000 and almost a million in 2006.Nishimura said they also sell the product in Japan.“The Japanese love it because noni juice is still very effective,” he added. “It has over 1,000 years of history in curing people that’s why people trust it.”PMG held its Shake Tour Friendship Party at the Palasia Hotel recently for their Japanese sales personnel and to donate money to different local schools and organizations.Former Ngaremlengui Gov. John B. Skebong, the chairman of the Palauan Noni Producers Association, said PMG donated $20,000 to Ibobang High School and $5,000 to the Law Enforcement Explorers Program.Skebong added that PMG also donated cash money to SDA Elementary School, Emmaus Church and three other institutions and organizations.President Tommy Remengesau, Vice President Elias Camsek Chin, and Senator Allan R. Seid attended the event at the Palasia hotel to  congratulate PMG owners Nishimura and Michikuri Shimizu.Nishimura said twice a year, they bring their sales personnel in Japan to Palau for the “shake tour” party.He said they also plan to sell the product to Korea and China.Noni juice is manufactured here by the Palau Organic Farm, which was established in 1995.
