(OES) — Turtles are known to be slow, but not for the competing OES Turtles at the Primary Grades Forensics Competition held on October 15, 2022 at Mount Carmel School. All 10 OES students who participated in the Kindergarten to 2nd-grade division won in one or all of their English and Chamorro- Carolinian Language Heritage Studies or CCLHS events. OES students in grades 3-5 won 1st to 4th place in Impromptu Speaking B. The students learned about the Micronesian territories and countries from the Northern Marianas Islands, Guam, Palau, Nauru, Marshall Islands to Kiribati as they prepared for the competition.
PGFC competition encourages public and private schools from kindergarten to fifth grade students to participate and become proficient in reading, public speaking, and interpretation. After two years of virtual competition, PGFC is back to face-to-face or in-person competitions where students will compete with other students from the different schools.
OES family would like to thank all OES competitors for doing their best to accomplish their goals. Thank you to all the parents who helped in preparing their children at home as well as the teachers and judges for the support they have given in this competition.
The Parent-Teacher-Student Association of Oleai Elementary School would like to extend their congratulations to all of the competitors and winners from the participating schools.
