Toribiong received 5,040 votes while Chin got 4,828.
Turnout was high — 73.77 percent — with 10,473 of 14,196 registered voters casting their ballots.
Elected senators were businessman Surangel Whipps Jr., attorney Raynold Oliouch, incumbent Mlib Tmetuchl, Delegate Joel Toribiong, community activist Kathy Kesolei, businessman Mark Rudimch, incumbent Hokkons Baules, Koror Department of Conservation and Law Enforcement Director Adalbert Eledui, retired Head Start Director Regina Mesebeluu, incumbent Alfonso Diaz, outgoing President Tommy Remengesau, sports fisherman Regis Akitaya, and retired public utilities engineer Paul Ueki.
