KOROR (Palau Horizon) – The Palau Visitors Authority commended three operators for having the most presentable taxis in this island nation.
PVA presented certificates to Parker Mad, Johnston Kloulubak and Martin Ngcharduring the awarding ceremony at Bethlehem Park.
Mad, Kloulubak and Ngchar were chosen during PVA’s taxi spot check operation, in line with the Tourism Awareness Week celebration.
Aside from the taxi spot check, PVA also conducted the Koror state hamlet beautification and Rock Island iron chef contests.
Ngerkesoaol won the hamlet beautification contest for the third straight year.
For the Rock Island iron chef contest professional category, Palau Bay Bistro won first prize followed by Palau Pacific Resort and Palau Royal Resort which placed third.
Palm Bay Bistro’s chef Hector Solangon prepared Rock Island octopus stew and won the first prize received of $100 cash, a trophy and a t-shirt.
For the amateur category Patrol Division Chief Ismael Aguon won first prize and received $100 cash and a t-shirt.
Kameril Sasao Medalarak won second place and received $75 cash while Michael Martin placed third and got $50 cash.
