Palau has new health center

The center stands on a 1,450-square feet property. It has a reception area, two examination rooms, a laboratory, a pharmacy, an office and a restroom. 

The facility will be staffed and maintained by Palau’s Ministry of Health.The construction was completed by the U.S. Air Force Civic Action Team 09-05.Airai Gov. Vicki Kanai said the new health center will help the local people.She thanked CAT 09-05 for its “hard work and excellent job.”Health Minister Stevenson Kuartei, for his part, said “heath is an issue of shared partnership.”Rear Adm. William French, commander of Naval Forces Marianas and the U.S. Defense representative, said he takes his hat off to CAT 09-05.President Johnson Toribiong said the “strength of the community depends on the strength of the people,” thus good health should be a priority.The center was funded by the U.S. Defense Security Cooperation Agency’s Humanitarian and Civic program.
