The workshop will start today and will end on Friday.
A team of national and visiting experts from Australia will assess Palau’s capacity to receive, communicate and effectively respond to Tsunami warnings.The assessment workshop is funded by the Australian Government Agency for International Development (AusAID) and will be led by the Australian Bureau of Meteorology.Participants of the workshop will be personnel from various government agencies, non-government organizations and private sectors.Visiting team includes experts in the fields of tsunami warnings, emergency management, regional disaster management and warning communications.The team will focus on a range of topics ranging from community awareness of tsunami to issuing of tsunami warnings.
