Healthy Lifestyle, Alcoholism in Palau, Alternative Treatment for Alcohol Abuse, Alcohol related injuries/DUI and Tobacco Control were among the issues tackled during the event.
After discussing the issues, participants visited the school’s lunch program of the Koror Elementary School, Meyuns Elementary School and GB Harris Elementary School and joined the children eating lunch.
The participants also visited the DEwill2 Live Statue.
According to J. Maireng Sengebau, director of the Bureau of Public Health, the aim offield trip is to educate and inform the public to become aware of what is happening around the environment, as they are part of the four pillars of the Public Health.
The Public Health Convention is organized annually by the Ministry of Health; but Sengebau said this is different convention for the year because of the inclusion of afield trip.
Today is the last day of 5th Public Health Convention. There will be a Group Presentations bases on the Field Trip findings, Special Presentation of Palau’s Walk and Talk program and other activities.
