Nineteen members of the Saipan Awaodori Team and eight Kinpachi Restaurant employees collected a total of 1,200 lbs of trash during a cleanup on Saturday, Oct. 23, 2021, in downtown Garapan. The two-hour activity started at 9 a.m. and the cleanup area included Paseo De Marianas, Coral Tree Ave., Micro Beach Rd. and connecting alleys. Sonia G. Siwa, coordinator of PDM Promoters Inc./Kinpachi Restaurant, said they did not conduct a cleanup in the area last month because they participated instead in the International Coastal Cleanup on Sept. 18, 2021.
