Police finds Idesmang remains

Bureau of Public Safety (BPS) Director Norvert Yano said they found the body of 56-year old Idesmang near the swamp area of Ngermeskang bridge which is 200 meters away from the main road.

Idesmang’s body was found after a man called the police reporting of an unusual smell traveling from Ngatpang State on his way home to Ngaremlengui State.

Yano said that they immediately responded to the area. The police were accompanied by Idesmang’s relatives.

The police found the hand bag of Idesmang which contain his chew stuff, betel nut and shoes. Not far from the area, about 50 feet away from his bag , the authorities found his body at around 11:30 a.m. on March 9.

The director said, the body of Idesmang is still intact but his face is partly decomposed and eaten by the insects.

Based on the autopsy report conducted by Dr. Manix Jonathan of Belau National Hospital -who went to the area, Idesmang died of a heart attack.

He was buried immediately after the autopsy.

Idesmang went missing on March 1 after he went out to harvest betel nut at the jungle area of Ngermeskang.

The police search took more than a week.
