Active case
As police continue their search for Mendiola, he currently has an active case for a misdemeanor assault charge stemming from an assault complaint made by a man at Tumon bar, Livehouse, on Aug. 27, 2023.
According to charging documents, Mendiola and his co-defendant, mixed martial arts fighter Ricky Camp, were accused of having “jumped” a man at Livehouse.
The man was hospitalized after becoming unconscious from the assault. The victim was bleeding from his nose, mouth and left ear and had abrasions on his left knee, a small cut to his left eyebrow and bruising to his right eye. At the hospital, the victim received five staples to the back of his head, according to court documents.
GPD stated at the time that Mendiola voluntarily confessed to assaulting the victim and that Camp was involved. Charging documents stated Mendiola allegedly admitted to punching the victim’s face.
Mendiola was confined to the Department of Corrections on Aug. 29, 2023, after he was charged, but was released two days later, prison records state.
