Public hearing on Yap nominee

Laaw is on a short work contract as Special advisor to the acting director of the Office of Administrative Services. She was first nominated by governor to be the director of the Office of Planning and Budget but was turned down by the Legislature.

During its discussion with the principal witnesses, the members of the finance committee asked several questions about the nominee especially her work experience and desire to continue serving the administration.

The committee also asked other questions related to transaction, hiring, audit report, and what the nominee would intend to do for the office if confirmed by the Legislature.

The witnesses in the public hearing included the nominee and the director of the Department of Youth and Civic Affairs, Ruotpong Pongliyab, and Lt. Gov. Tony Tareg who attended on behalf of the governor who was off island.
