PVA, BPS conduct taxi spot check in observance of Tourism Week

Kate Mad, Public Relation Officer III said that they stopped 20 taxis during the operation on Tuesday.

The taxi spot operation was part of the annual observation of Tourism Awareness Week.

PVA personnel and police officers inspected the taxis if they are in compliance with the law.

Kadoi Ruluked, Marketing I, in a separate interview said that they started the taxi spot operation at 9 am on Tuesday until 11 am in Idid, Hamlet by the Moylan’s Insurance office.

Ruluked said some of the taxis were found to be not in compliance anymore like their registrations are already expired.

Mad said three of the 20 taxis that they stopped will receive a certificate and a special prize for being the most presentable taxi in Palau.

The awarding ceremony will be held on Friday at the Bethlehem Park at 5 pm.

She said they also held a beautification contest for all Hamlets on Monday and the winners will be announced on Friday at the awarding ceremony.

PVA has been doing these activities for more than five years now.
