PVA celebrates Green Fair

Eleven kinds of croton plants locally known as “kesuk” vied for the 1st prize of Croton plant contest, were displayed during the event. Women farmers from Aimeliik State also displayed and sold their farm products at the park. These include fruit jams, liquors made from fruit extracts and different kinds of fresh fruits.

Melson Miko, PVA community/support services manager said the first prize is $100 worth of gardening tools. Second prize is $75 and third prize is $50 worth of items.

The PVA Green Fair celebration started with a tree planting activity at the Koror side of the bridge last week.

More than 10 hibiscus trees and elangel trees have been planted in collaboration with the women’s of Omung Association (OA), Bureau of Agriculture and the Koror State.

The Green fair is a yearly celebration being done by the PVA and this is the 9th annual event. This celebration coincided with the International Earth Day.
