Rechebei was formally accredited as a non- resident ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Palau to Vietnam in Hanoi on June 9.
Rechebei met with the Chief of General Department of State Protocol, Lee Vuong Ha.Senator Hokkons Baules, chair of the Senate Committee on Foreign Affairs and State who accompanied Rechebei to the trip said that they also met with the Vice Minister of Sport, Culture, and Tourism Socialist Republic of Vietnam, Huynh Vinh Ai.Baules said that Ai suggested that Palau and Vietnam can work for tourism development between Palau and Vietnam.Baules said that it was recommended that there must be first exchange of videos and brochures about the two countries.The two countries can also exchange performing arts group and sports between each other.“It is important to promote images of both countries so forming some kind of a foundation to promote Palau and Vietnam for tourists around the world,” Baules said.He also stated that it is also best to open airlines between the two countries.He said that other areas of cooperation between the two are on fisheries, agriculture and aquaculture.
