GOVERNMENT entities, non-government organizations and small businesses are donating relief goods to Rota residents.
On June 3-4, the Office of the Mayor of Rota, in collaboration with the CNMI Office of the Governor and the Federal Emergency Management Agency, distributed Meals-Ready-to-Eat or MREs and water to Rota residents.
The American Red Cross-NMI Chapter, for its part, distributed cleaning supplies, tarps and mosquito nets.
“We are providing much needed provisions to the community as a result of the Super Typhoon Mawar recovery efforts,” the Rota mayor’s Public Information Office said.
“[We are extending our] special thanks to the governor’s office, FEMA and the American Red Cross for their donations, and the Office of the Rota Mayor staff for assisting in the distribution,” the PIO added.
For its part, the Rotary Club of Saipan donated relief goods for Rota over the weekend. The items were distributed to the island residents.
The Rota Mayor’s Office expressed its gratitude to Chief Justice Alexandro Castro and Associate Justice Perry Inos for bringing the donations to Rota.
Another donor is McDonald’s, which provided burger patties, French fries and other food items to Rota residents.
