Remengesau said this during the opening of the Education conference, Tuesday.
He noted that teachers are facing several challenges from low payscale and cutbacks of federal funded education programs.
He said a quality education is reflective to an effort to hire qualified teachers.
He said this can be possible through a legislation that will make sure that their salaries of teachers commensurate with her educational degree.
The president at the same time reiterated that Math, Science and English are areas that need to be improved.
“These are the areas of concentration that help improvement,” Remengesau said.
He said the government has already instituted programs that will help improve these areas.
The president said the government has already asked assistance from JICA to send volunteers that can help students in the Math and Science subjects.
Peace Corps meanwhile are sending volunteers that can help with teaching English subjects in schools.
