Rep. Joel Camacho spreads holiday spirit

REPRESENTATIVE Joel Camacho helped spread the holiday spirit by putting up Christmas decorations on Precinct 4’s main thoroughfares Saturday.

Assisting Camacho were his fiancée Monica Manibusan, children Isaac and Isaiah, and the lawmaker’s staffers.

“I think our community needs this more than ever,” Camacho said.

“Amid the Covid-19 community spread and all the politics that has been causing dissension in our community, we really need some holiday spirit,” he added.

He said uniting our community has always been his goal, “but it is difficult to do these days with everything that has been happening lately.”

Camacho earlier announced the completion of the Capital Hill bus stop shelter project that he had initiated.

He thanked all the parents and residents for “reaching out and supporting our children who live in the area by requesting for the bus shelter.”

Before initiating the project, Camacho said, he was informed that there were more than 10 students who had to stand outside the hot sun or rain while waiting for their school bus.

“Prioritizing our children’s needs is always a main priority of mine and I am glad they finally have a bus stop shelter to protect them from the elements,” he added.
