ROTA (Press Release) — The Rota Island Specialty Crop Association or RISCA, in its Feb. 6 membership meeting at the Rota mayor’s office, distributed monetary assistance to its community of producers through its Membership Assistance Program.
A one-time $250 check was issued to its members comprising of livestock producers, food processors of local produce, artisans, fishers, field farmers and home gardeners to help fund necessary tools and other items to start or improve existing undertakings.
The purchase of seeds, gardening tools, equipment, mesh or barbed wire are some examples the funds are geared towards to help elevate Rota’s producer community.
RISCA will continue membership interviews under its Membership Assistance Program for another round of monetary assistance distribution to its members that have yet to receive assistance, which is dependent on the availability of funds.
RISCA is proud to serve its community of producers and look forward to its members cementing Rota’s food security, and later expanding to exports to neighboring islands.
RISCA offers its appreciation to its members, Rota Legislative Delegation for providing the funds, Rota Mayor Efraim Atalig and Rota Municipal Council for their support of Rota’s community of producers.
