THE Rotary Club of Saipan and the CNMI Small Business Development Center signed a memorandum of agreement on Aug. 8 at the Crowne Plaza Resort to co-sponsor business development seminars and training events.

Roman Tudela, CNMI SBDC marketing manager, said under the MOA, they will also refer clients to “information and services offered from both parties.”

SBDC, which gained independent network status in 2022, is hosted by Northern Marianas College.

NMC President Galvin Deleon Guerrero, Ed.D.  said SBDC’s MOU with the Rotary Club is “clear proof of the college’s commitment to rebuilding the economy one entrepreneur and one business at a time.”

Prior to the MOU signing with the Rotary Club, Tudela outlined the services offered and the benefits associated with the development center.

He said the core services of the SBDC include business counseling, business education and training, and technical assistance.

Tudela said the SBDC can also help with business planning, financial management, strategic operations, personnel administration, marketing and more.

He said these services come at no cost to clients and with no obligation to provide services to SBDC.

Tudela said an SBDC office is located on every campus of NMC on Saipan, Tinian, and Rota.

The Saipan office can be reached at (670) 237-6888; the Tinian office at (670) 433-0657; and the Rota office at (670) 532-9513.
