About 26 8th grade students participated in the clean up where at least 10 bags of trash were collected.
The debris’ collected included toilet seat, bottles, cans, plastics and old ropes.Byron Rivera, 8th grade teacher said that since the students are preparing for a field trip, the students said that the trip to the Rock Island is also a way not only to enjoy the sites but also to rid it of debris.One of the students said that they enjoyed picking up the trash.The clean- up efforts took them to Jellyfish Lake, Milky Way and Clam City.“The students not only wants to go out and have fun but also wants to take care of the environment,” Rivera said.The students said they are looking forward to participating in another clean-up effort.
