Sen. Deleon Guerrero donates new swing set, play equipment to Carolinian Affairs Office

THE staffers and community workers of Sen. Edith Deleon Guerrero, Reps. Corina Magofna, Denita Yangetmai and House Vice Speaker Blas Jonathan Attao on Wednesday installed a brand new swing set and play equipment at the Carolinian Affairs Office in Garapan.

Deleon Guerrero made the donation after a parent told her about a child who was injured while playing with the old swing set, which was made of metal and was already partially damaged and rusty.

The senator said she informed CAO Executive Director John Tagabuel about the accident and her intent to make a donation.

Deleon Guerrero said she used her office’s leftover funds to buy play equipment that includes a brand new swing set made of wood and plastic.

“It will keep the kids happy, which is a great investment,” she added.

Those who installed the play equipment and swing set were Deleon Guerrero’s staff member Derrick Teregeyo; Yangetmai’s staff members Dave Igisomar, AJ Kosam and Emery Warakai; Magofna’s community workers Jess Ruben and Marco Pua; and House Vice Speaker Blas Jonathan Attao’s community worker Nate Kaipat. Also providing assistance were CAO and Division of Parks and Recreation employees.

Yangetmai said the new swing set is much better than the old one, and is great for the children. She thanked Deleon Guerrero for thinking about the children.

Magofna said she was very grateful to Deleon Guerrero for her thoughtfulness.
