SENATOR Jude U. Hofschneider will attend the 2023 National Association of Conservation Districts Summer Conservation Forum and Tour in Bismarck, North Dakota.
Hofschneider, a member of the Senate Committee on Resources, Economic Development & Programs, was invited by NACD Chief Executive Officer Jeremy Peters to join over 400 conservation leaders from federal, state, territory and local governments, as well as the private sector and academia in the five-day event that will be held at Bismarck Hotel and Conference Center from July 15-19, 2023.
According to Peters, this year’s forum and tour will showcase the work of conservation districts and their partners from across the country.
In a memorandum to Senate President Edith Deleon Guerrero, Hofschneider said through his office, the CNMI established an “essential partnership” with the NACD board and management.
Since then, he said, the Commonwealth has “benefited from the organization’s expertise, valuable resources and unyielding support to improve and enhance food security in the region.”
As a legislator, Hofschneider said he believes it is critical that the CNMI build on these efforts to develop policies or expand programs beneficial to the people.
Hofschneider asked the Senate president to allow Senate legislative assistant Jolyn B. Duenas-Tagabuel to accompany him so she can help gather information from other government officials attending the forum.
Sen. Jude Hofschneider listens during the public comment portion of a Senate session.
