Senate honors late honorary consul Arago

THE Senate on Wednesday unanimously adopted Senate Floor Leader Vinnie Sablan’s Senate Commemorative Resolution 22-1 “commending the life and selfless contributions of the late Glicerio ‘Eli’ Del Mundo Arago, Honorary Consul of the Philippines for the CNMI, and to pay tribute for his many years of dedication and exceptional acts of distinguished service.”

The resolution states that Arago, who passed away on Nov. 24, 2021 at the age of 69, “lived a beautiful life of service and devotion to his people in humble gratitude for their commitment to develop and enhance the communities they serve and call home.”

It further states that Arago’s legacy “will forever live in the heart of the CNMI for his untiring commitment to the Filipino community as a charismatic leader, a proud and accomplished son of the Philippines, a joyous companion, and a loyal partner in supporting the needs of the private and public sectors of the CNMI.”

“He will be deeply missed by all those whose lives were touched by his actions as a leader, his love as a friend, and his patriotic pride for his ‘kababayans,’ and the CNMI is profoundly grateful” to Arago “who selflessly served the people of the Commonwealth for the past 35 years,” the resolution stated.
