Senate panel endorses procedures to probe gov’t officials

The committee said the bill formalizes the procedure for handling requests of investigations of wrongdoing by high officials such as the president, vice president, Ministers, Senators, Delegates or members of the judiciary.

Since there exist already an Attorney General Office or the Special Prosecutor , the bill  then creates procedures for the Olbiil Era Kelulau to perform when appropriate, a screening interview to determine if it warrants full congressional hearing.The bill however creates confidentially, thus requests to the findings will remain confidential.The debate and vote portions of the process however will be made available for public observation.The screening interview will however remain confidential that it will be unlawful to make public or disclose what has transpired unless there is a court order.The bill will allow any member of the public to submit any written requests to the OEK and the OEK will investigate some alleged violation by law by a high government official or consider a legislation to remedy some of the harm to the public.
