The members of the BMS Board of Directors drafted and passed separate resolutions on January 9, 2008 honoring Toribiong and Seid.
Each of the resolutions detailed the distinguished effort of Toribiong and Seid.Toribiong was recognized for his effort – then as a member of the House of Delegates – to ensure that government funding to BMS remains continues.“Toribiong is one of the most distinguished people in the Olbiil Er a Kelulau,” commented BMS principal, Bedebii Chiokai. “He deserves credit for being instrumental in ensuring that private schools continue to receive funding from the national government. I am very grateful for his effort to increase funding to BMS to as much as $75,000.”Moreover, Chiokai said, Toribiong has continued to personally contribute support to the school and has pledge allegiance with school in all its curricular and extra curricular activities.Likewise, Seid was accorded similar recognition and more.In the resolution honoring Seid, he is honored for his leadership as vice-chairman of BMS Board of Directors. The resolution defines Seid’s initiation into the board. It describes how the late Ngirchobeketang Sechalboi Wasisang, who headed the Ngara-Modekngei and BMS school board from 1973 to 2007, selected Seid to become a member of Ngara-Modekngei and a member of the BMS Board of Director. The resolution states that Wasisang seemingly foresaw the effective and generous contributions of Seid; and he has, by far, lived up to what had been expected of him and more.According to Valentino Kloulechad, an active member of the Ngara-Modekngei, the resolution only states the Seid’s major contributions. “Seid has, on many occasions, used his own money keep the school afloat,” Kloulechad said. “He accepted and committed himself to the enormous responsibility that was bestowed on him. The list of things he has done for BMS is long.”Chiokai further added “words become scarce when it comes time to utter our appreciation of Alan and Toribiong.”“What do you say to them?” she said. “I pray that they are aware of how grateful we are and that they know that their contributions significantly improved our lives.”
